Foundation December 2020 Training Report

UDUKHOTSE FOUNDATION IS SET TO EMPOWER MORE WOMEN IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2021

The Udukhotse Foundation was primarily borne out of the fact that, several people living with disabilities were in dire need of someone who feels same pains and with the zeal to present their pains to various authorities, with a view to ensuring that they are catered for, and aided to fraternize freely with other members of the society in an egalitarian manner. 
In addition, it is also captured in its mission and vision statements,  to support women with genuine reasons to be aided and to pull up the dying creative potentials in young adults, particularly the  students.
Over the years following general business principles and recognizing its set goals and steps to success, the foundation has strived steadily and resiliently to meet its aims and objectives thus, it has empowered hundreds of women in Edo North senatorial district, and other neighbouring communities since its establishment in 2015.
For effective and efficient service delivery, through the various clubs, it has empowered and reformed many young adults, and aided People Living With Disabilities (PLWD),  both in the District and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja-Nigeria.
On 28th December, 2020, amidst the COVID-19 lockdown, fifty (50) women from the South-Ibie branch were selected amongst other members of the foundation for training in various productions, and the first ten (10) outstanding participants were empowered to stay in business, while others are on a watch-list for further empowment.
Following the experience from the process therefore, the Coordinator of the Edo North District, Mrs.  Christiana Inuope has advised women living in rural areas to embrace empowment programmes than their usual expectations of seasonal peanuts that drops from some politicians' pockets when they are seeking political offices and she added that such Greek gifts will take them nowhere.
After the training, the Founder, Ms. Adams who was unavoidably absent due to other official engagements during the exercise, spoke via a phone call with those who were empowered and congratulated them.
In their happy moods, in various times, they testified and commended the organizers of the training, and reeled out some of the products they have been able to produce and sold, which included Disinfectants ( Izals), Liquid Soaps, Air Fresheners, and Vaseline.
Adams advised them not to stop adding value to their lives and their immediate environment, as the contribution to family particularly in the area of finance is key.
Beneficiaries of the batch from amongst the fifty (50) are; Mariam Sule,  Mary Aminu, Abibat Abikwi, Hauwa Umaru, Rashidat Momodu, Rashidat Malik, Mariam Shehu, Aminat Momoh, Azaletu Musa and Fatimatu Mutari; while  they have all reveived their registration numbers via the  Coordinator, South -Ibie Clan, Evangelist Success Ikerodah, for ease of monitoring and evaluation, prototypes of their products have been archived.
The Foundation is now set to empower the next outstanding thirty-five (35) trained members in different batches in the first quarter of 2021, and has put measures in place to train women from other Clans, on or before  April, 2021. 
The Founder called on more individuals and Organizations for a healthy partnership to take several women out of poverty as we build a healthier society together.
